Brownie Recipe

Several people were asking Gail how she made those incredibly yummy brownies she brought to the mini-reunion Saturday! Here’s the recipe…

Use 9 x 13 pan

2 boxes of brownie mix, I usually use the one with walnuts. If you use Ghiradelli, it will barely cover a 9 x 13 pan, but it will work

3 – 8 ounce Symphony Toffee Bars, blue and white packaging

Prepare one box of brownie mix using package directions. Lay the candy bars over the top, vertically. It is a tight fit.

Make second box of brownie mix and pour over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for about 35-40 minutes. Make sure you don’t overcook. I have a cake tester to stick in the middle to make sure it is not real runny. My oven temperature is a little off, so I had to cook mine a few minutes longer. Also, make sure they are completely cool before attempting to cut.
